Rated 5 out of 5 by IABOWHNTR A must for the saltwater guru!
I purchased the 50#-80# with the left hand size 60 squall reel, I am very happy with overall appearance and quality of both rod and reel. I have not had a chance to go after anything really big with the combo but I used it for stripers just to try the new toy. Reel is amazing, for a big leverdrag it's casting performance is pretty good. The clicker has two settings and is very loud when you get a strike. The drag is smoothe as silk and easy to adjust. The handle on the reel has two positions for speed or torque, it is quick and easy to change around. Spool has a grip strip in the middle to keep your line from slipping (great for braided lines) and the spool capacity lines let you know how much line you have out. The handle of the rod fits great in your hand and is nice for giving you the leverage needed for pulling heavy fish up off the bottom. I used about 76 yards of 65# mono for backing and 500 yards of 100# power pro which doesn't dig into itself as bad as the 65# does on my jigging rod. Depending on were I am fishing I use a 25 yard leader of either mono or fluorocarbon, with the roller tip and stripper the splice sails right through the fuji guides in-between. Overall a solid setup. OH! And the price is great for a lighter weight setup for someone who wants to get out and fight some big fish.
