Rated 5 out of 5 by 23456 Great Reel! I have three of these: 3500, 4500 and 5500. They cast easily and with superior distance to other reels. You almost have to try to birds nest them. I used the 4500 against the wind with a light lure and still had good distance. Works great for both fresh and saltwater. April 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by BassPoohbah Exceptional! I have the SSV6500. This reel is super sweet! It's powerful and extremely smooth. I hope it last for many years. I take care of my equipment, so we'll see. So far it's a bargain for the quality level I'm experiencing. I can cast very far with this one. The retrieve is amazingly smooth. Excellent for surf fishing (Tarpon, Reds, Shark, etc.) or very large freshwater cats. Lot's of muscle. April 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by BigRoy80 Awesome reels I bought the ssv4500 and the ssv5500 and let me tell you, These reels are awesome! Me and my wife went fishing to Matagorda Tx spring break weekend and caught two nice big fish and put these reels to the test. They performed incredible !! April 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by tnole23 awesome reel (ssv3500) i haven't used it much, but so far i really like this reel. it really is just like the conquer, which i have the 7000 of, but at a much more reasonable price. doesn't have the fancy look, but i don't care. it's super smooth, drag is consistent, and it casts great. i've never had issues with the bail wire, but u can tell it's heavy duty. yet still a very light reel. the capacity seems to be underestimated, though. i fit 300yds of 15lb pp slick on the 3500. it's def full, maybe past the full line, but i didn't have any 'too full' issues. the rod i got is the offshore angler inshore extreme 6'6" medium. great combo for what i wanted. def recommend. Details:Trying to decide between the 5500, 6500, or 7500 reel. Mostly fishing for sharks and bass from the surf. Looking for the best balance for the rod.
Details:it appears that the 3500 and 4500 reel bodies/rotors are the same size. Can you swap out a 3500 spool onto a 4500 reel or vice versa?
A:i asked same thing and never found an answer. i can tell u that from what i could tell holding each that it's not just a swapped spool. the reel itself is bigger. 3500 might still accept the 4500 spool, but the bodies didn't appear to be same sizes. i'd say go into the store and actually try swapping them.
