I got a SSV4500 and a St Croix Mojo Inshore rod for my birthday, and let me tell you I love them! This reel is used for speck and redfish and I love the ease that it handles them with.We all know a redfish can test a smaller reels guts, but not this one!The drag is a dream to use and the action is smooth as butter.Going to get at least 3 more and try the other sizes as well. The 1050 comes out in March 2013 and it looks like a beast. My ancient 850 might get a rest when it does come out.

HAVE ONLY CAUGHT ABOUT 20 FISH ON THIS REEL, NOTHING BIG YET MOSTLY FLOUNDER AT SEBASTIAN INLET. FEELS LIKE A TANK. I HOPE IT IS A SEALED SLAMMER AS THEY CLAIM IT IS SEALED. HOPE THIS REEL LASTS LIKE BY BG15 AND BG 30 HAVE(SINCE THE LATE 80'S). IF SO THIS WILL BE THE BEST REEL.I HAVE HAD MANY THAT FEEL AND WORK GREAT FOR 3 YEARS BUT NONE LIKE THE OLD TECHLESS BG'S THAT HAVE NEVER DIED.

Trying to decide between the 5500, 6500, or 7500 reel. Mostly fishing for sharks and bass from the surf. Looking for the best balance for the rod.Answers
A:Â
I have the 6500 and I think the 5500 or 6500 will make you happy. The 6500 might be too big and heavy though.Details:Â
it appears that the 3500 and 4500 reel bodies/rotors are the same size. Can you swap out a 3500 spool onto a 4500 reel or vice versa?Answers
A:Â
i asked same thing and never found an answer. i can tell u that from what i could tell holding each that it's not just a swapped spool. the reel itself is bigger. 3500 might still accept the 4500 spool, but the bodies didn't appear to be same sizes. i'd say go into the store and actually try swapping them.1 of 1
