PENN Bluewater Carnage Spinning Rods 1 5 1 1
Carnage CARBW3050S70 I bought 2 of these rods and matched them to Penn Spinfisher 8500LL. The reels work great but the rods are inferior. At first, they look great and seem to be built well. I went on a trip to Walkers Cay on May 3, 2014 and cracked one of the rods in half on a yellowfin tuna. I sent it back on warranty and it was quickly replaced. I just recently went to the Florida Keys on June 6, 2014 and cracked another one of the rods in half. Both rods broke just below the 3rd guide. I once again notified Penn of another broken rod which needed to be replaced. Dealing with Penn's Warranty Dept. is a pleasure with the exception that I have to pay for shipping on rods that were brand new and used only 3 times in the past month. With that being said, I do believe Penn makes a great spinning reel but like I mentioned, the rods in my opinion have poor quality blanks. June 12, 2014
