The Penn Battle Spinning Reel is built for the long run with a full metal body and sideplates. A superline spool features a rubber gasket that keeps superline from slipping—eliminating the need for backing. A stainless steel bearing system features six bearings for outstanding smoothness you'd expect from a Penn reel. Other features include a machined and anodized aluminum spool, HT-100 drag washers, a stainless steel main shaft, a techno-balanced rotor for smooth retrieves, and infinite anti-reverse.
The other half of this versatile saltwater combo is a Penn Battle Spinning Rod, built on a rugged graphite composite blank. The Penn Battle Rod comes equipped with stainless steel guides and durable aluminum oxide inserts that reduce wear and friction. In my opinion, the Battle Combo is the best deal of the year! The 7' MH Extra fast action rod is built with a high quality, graphite rod blank and quality components. I have been a custom rod builder for 16 years and I could not build a rod of this quality for the price of this entire combo. The Battle 4000 reel is exceptional and without peer in the saltwater spinning reel arena at this price.
