Not the most shiny, but this reel can perform! Good strong consistent drags 20lbs+, casts really well, and has great stopping power! Anything from big cods, yellows in the Bay of LA, or Tuna in San Diego, this reel is a TANK!

Just took this reel for the first time on 3 day trip out of San Diego. Was on a boat with 32 Anglers. Dorado and Yellow Tail was wide open. Yellowfin was moderate . Bluefin was scarce. Everything was 20 to 40lbs.
I brought this reel as my back up. But I ended up using most of the trip. I was using 40lbs top shot over 65lbs spectra. This reel is a beast. For the price, you can't beat it. Casting was dream. Handling the fish was awesome.

I started out with a lot of research and the Baha was in last place on my short list. I thought the Baha Special was just and expensive, spruced up 113H. I was also looking at the Daiwa Sealine X, the Saltiga, and the Saltist for gulf grouper fishing in ~ 100 feet of water.
Members of the Florida Sportsman forum got me looking at the Baha seriously, but I left the house intending on buying the Saltiga. After playing around the desk at BPS for nearly an hour, I convinced myself to purchase the 113HN Baha Special. Wow, that's one nice reel. It's far more than an upgraded 113H Senator. It has a stainless gear system, the silky smooth Versa multi-washer drag system, a one piece aluminum frame and a lot more, borrowing technology from the new Penn Torque coming out.
This is a fish catching machine, that's much more powerful and smoother than any other reel I've considered for bottom fishing. That star drag locks down with massive amounts of drag and the fat power handle gets that grouper's nose up quick. I was a little concerned that the 4.25 ratio was a little fast for the big ones, but I needn't have worried. There's a lot of muscle here and it seems bullet-proof.
Those of you who might have considered adding a narrow frame from Accurate or Newel to the 4.0 Senator, might want to look hard at the Baha Special. It's been engineered for you on this reel, and when you consider that, the price isn't bad at all.
Now I have to build a new fast tip, heavy butt rod for this baby. Grouper digging at it?s best.
