A sturdy vise with features comparable to those in the $200-250 range, the Peak® Rotary Vise includes a 6" x 6" x 1/2" stand-alone pedestal base constructed of white, powder-coated steel. This base provides a stable work platform and features a convenient, rounded-edge pocket for beads and hooks. Additional features include an adjustable height and length bobbin rest, a quick-change jaw and an adjustable friction knob. Optional Peak Saltwater Jaws are available for hook sizes up to 6/0.

Excellent vice I have just begun to tie flies and this vise has been very easy to use. The vise has held each size of hook that I have used so far very securely(size 10- 24). The rotary part of the vise allows me to work on the fly at different angles which has made learning to tie flies like a Parachute Adams an ease to do. The weight of the base keeps the vise from moving while working . A great value for the money July 11, 2012
the only way to go I purchased the vise today. After taking back the fly tying kit I purchased first. You get what you pay for. This vise is so easy to use!!! Even a novice like myself can make a fly worthy of a fly box. Save alot of time and wasted effort. If you want to enjoy fly tying buy this and start amazing yourself with what you can do with the vise a a little information. December 27, 2008
Great vise I have used a standerd vise for years and made some great flies with it. But, the advantages of this rotary vise is awsome! I have been using this vise for several months and it has been a pleasure to use! Price is was a little above my budget but the vise turned out to be well worth it. The advantages of this vise are outstanding!! September 9, 2009
Good product, poor packaging The product is great. The outer packaging from Bass was fine, however the packaging of the carton inside from Peak was not sturdy enough and the weight of the vise tore the carton. Also they used peanut packaging that had excessive static electricity in it and it took considerable time to clean up the mess. January 13, 2011

A:
It depends on if you get the C-clamp or pedestal. The pedestal base adds like 3 pounds to the overall weight of the vise whereas the C-clamp only adds like a half a pound.
