A sturdy vise with features comparable to those in the $200-250 range, the Peak® Rotary Vise includes a 6" x 6" x 1/2" stand-alone pedestal base constructed of white, powder-coated steel. This base provides a stable work platform and features a convenient, rounded-edge pocket for beads and hooks. Its non-reflective white coat provides good contrast, making small hooks and beads easy to see without straining your eyes.
The Peak Rotary Vice has a positive-stop cam action that allows repeatable gripping from the first fly to the last. Its hardened jaws can hold hooks ranging from a 2/0 streamer hook to a #24 midge. Additional features include an adjustable height and length bobbin rest, a quick-change jaw and an adjustable friction knob. Optional Peak Saltwater Jaws are available for hook sizes up to 6/0.

I purchased this vise several years ago. As my tying abilities improved and had the opportunity to acquire other vises (Renezetti/Norvice) I have tied hundreds of flies. I love all three. I have had excellent customer service from each company. Sometimes deciding which vise to use is my hardest decision. My advice to a potential customer...if money is a major consideration, get the Peak. If not, flip a coin. You will not be disappointed in any of them.

I researched several vises, and chose Peak due to size and stability. By far, this is the easiest vise I ever used. Plenty of room for big fingers, holds hooks better than any other I have tried. I have had the opportunity to tie with several higher priced products and prefer the Peak hands down.

Good product, poor packaging
The product is great. The outer packaging from Bass was fine, however the packaging of the carton inside from Peak was not sturdy enough and the weight of the vise tore the carton. Also they used peanut packaging that had excessive static electricity in it and it took considerable time to clean up the mess.

I've been tying flies for about 30 years and have used a variety of vices. This Peak Rotary easily outclasses them all, for ease of use, stability, and jaw performance. The thing does exactly as they say it will, with each hook held firmly and without any rocking of the base. The rotary function is super smooth. My fly-tying has vastly improved over the past few days' use of this item, and the price is defintely right.
