A sturdy vise with features comparable to those in the $200-250 range, the Peak Rotary Vise includes a 6" x 6" x 1/2" stand-alone pedestal base constructed of white, powder-coated steel. This base provides a stable work platform and features a convenient, rounded-edge pocket for beads and hooks. Its non-reflective white coat provides good contrast, making small hooks and beads easy to see without straining your eyes.
The Peak Rotary Vice has a positive-stop cam action that allows repeatable gripping from the first fly to the last. Its hardened jaws can hold hooks ranging from a 2/0 streamer hook to a #24 midge. Additional features include an adjustable height and length bobbin rest, a quick-change jaw and an adjustable friction knob. Optional Peak Saltwater Jaws are available for hook sizes up to 6/0.

There are a lot of things I like about upgrading to this vise. I did a lot of research on vises and was really iffy on purchasing the HMH or the Renzetti because of the price. After using it for a while I will say it was probably the best purchase I ever made for a vise. The discription says that you can tie a #24 hook on it, I would say that is pushing it. I have tied a few #18's on it and anything smaller I would say purchase the smaller midge jaws. I have tied several dozen 3/0 flies on this and I must say they could up it from 2/0 in the description. I have tied a few flies on my buddy's HMH and I must say I like this vise a lot better and I am happier and my pockets are a little heavier. I like the fact that it comes with a LIFETIME WARRANTY!!

I haven't been tying jigs for very long but after upgrading from a AA to the Peak, I wondered how I ever did without it. The rotary function is SUPER SMOOTH and allows me to see the jig from every angle. It's GREAT!

About 10#. The base is heavy. Very stable.A:Â
It depends on if you get the C-clamp or pedestal. The pedestal base adds like 3 pounds to the overall weight of the vise whereas the C-clamp only adds like a half a pound.A:Â
According to the manufacturer, this item weighs approximately 6 pounds.Answers

Yes, it's the PRV-G2 if you look at the Peak website .. or on Bass Pro Shops website it's the same as item #: 38-430-151-00. It's a great vise and made in the USA.1 of 1
