This is my go-to lure for trout fishing. I have caught many different kinds of trout, and the occasional steelhead!

Just got back from a trout fishing trip in western maryland and this is the only spinner that worked. I would cast against the current, slowly reel keeping line taught as it worked its way down and then brought it back to me creating a small J. Worked every time! The trout couldn't resist. Panther Martin spinners are by far my favorite for trout fishing and have never let me down.

I use these on Crane Creek all the time, all colors. I've caught lots of McCloud trout- one of 3 places in the world where they can be found, by far the healthiest (fishable) population. Sometimes I buzz the trebles down to 1 hook with a dremel.

I used a #4 (1/8th oz) spinner on sespe river, ca (also fairly low water flow and shallow conditions) and got snagged on rocks an awful lot- I would suggest the #2 (1/16 oz) or #1 (1/32 oz.)Q:Â

In my opinion the gold fly spinner is the best all-round lure for all bass species and trout. I always feel confident when I have one tied on.Images for this Answer

I think the panther martin fly spinner is a better spinner for bass and trout. Because it runs shallower and is easier to control its depth.Answers

Gold with orange tail. They used to make them in 3/8 oz. and even 1/2 oz. The larger sizer were great for river smallies and lake largemouth. For trout and smallmouth, the smaller sizes are still killer. They can't be beat.Top 25 Contributor

It all depends on the body of water your fishing in! Some colors work best in one lake, pond, river! But will not work as well in an other location, like an other state, or provinces! Here in Canada, where I fish, the silver has always been a go too color, but five miles down the road, the pink body, silver blade works better! Just get the major colors and you will be set! Get the gold, silver, silver yellow, gold silver, pink if you can get it. Also get different sizes, from the 1/32 all the the way up to the 1/4 oz..As for dressed or undressed, I find that I have more success without the fly, that also depends on your area.
All in all, get a good selection for different areas, they all work very well!
Tight lines,
and be safe!
