I use this line as a leader for braid I love the feel in the line. And it disappears in the water which allows me to use heavier line in cover but the knot strength is not as strong as I hoped it would be.

have used them all and this is overall the best one yet.
Notice very little difference in number of fish caught between this line and the $20 per spool fluorocarbon and in other ways floroclear outperforms.

I don't like to trash a product when i know that many employees depend on their production or reputation, but never i been so disappointed with a fishing line. First time i lose a fish i though it was my fault because i used an improved clinch knot, after that i lost fish with Palomar, double uni knot and trilene knot. Two different reels same.Change the reel to another rod, same result. Sorry P-line maybe your others lines aren't bad. But this one is not reliable.
Ps. i was using p-line lb. test 15 while trilene XL 12 & 14 keep going.

Great Line. 2lb test is the choice for skittish trout. Begin season with 4lb. test. Seem to definitely catch more fish with this line.

Yes it is very good for spinning gear. This line is, in my opinion, the best overall performing line I have used and works great on spinning gear. It has no memory, thin diameter for the strength rating and it is very flexible and I have not had any more problems with line twist than any other line I have used.A:Â
Yes, performs very well on spinning reels. Very managable. Much better that regular fluoro. Some of the commercial "line dressing" is always a good idea though.A:Â
I have a friend who has this line on all of his rods, even spinning. I have used one before and it preformed great. I think it would be a good choice to put it on a spin.A:Â

Oh yea! This line really is supple and limp and casts a mile . It sinks so it's not good for topwater but excellant at everything else. As with all flourocarbon lines they are seseptable to line burn when tightening your kots up. So be sure to moisten the line with saliva always before senching the line down tight . If the knot looks like it has damaged the line in any way be sure to start over because for sure it will give way in a battle with a good fish . You may have to experiment a little with how to sench the knot up different ways to achieve good knots . I had to learn to pull one line tight and then another next before really putting the final tighting pressure on the knot .Enjoy the experience of fishing with some really outstanding line.

You bet. I use this line a lot. It's a mono coated with fluorocarbon. It is quite stong, more abrasion resistant and pretty clear. I have this on some of my reels for casting spinners and spinnerbaits. It is a very good line in my opinion.Answers

Very good leader in clear water as it is invisible. One thing to remember is if you are using a splice/blood knot intead of a barrel swivel make sure to give it a few more twists as this line is very smooth and can pull off of the braid easily.A:Â
I use this line as a leader quite often, use a Double Uni Knot and wrap each line six times.

Why do you want a leader? Yes it will work. If your braid is 50lbs. - then any # line you use as a leader will break first. are you really going to gain any distance with braid backing?

I usually use a Palomar knot for jigging and live bait, but often use a Rapala Knot for plugs, minnows, and spinners where more action is needed. P.S. the Palomar has the highest knot strength of all, which is great if you go after catfish or rockfish/striped bass.A:Â

It really depends on what you're doing. Generally, for tying on most hooks and lures, palomar or improved clinch will work. A rapala knot is good for cranks.

P-line recommends the Palamar Knot when using Floroclear.A:Â
Palomar - maybe 10-15% stronger than improved clinch with this line.I broke a 6'6 medium rod with 6lb floroclear on a snag. That's crazy.

Sonny, P Line makes a very good line for the black lights. It is not this line but one that has a blue tint to it which in my opinion you do not want for anything but night fishing with your black light.PLine "Floroclear" is excellent for day time
you want P Line "CX" for the black light.

Only the P-line CX. Both the P-line Floroclear and CX are florocarbon coated. The difference is the Floroclear has 30% more florocarbon than the CX which makes the CX more stronger than the Floroclear. My friends say P-line CX is the best night fishing line they have sever used.Details:Â

If your using a baitcaster the Berkley Floro slips out backlashs better. Also the Berkley with all three reel types Cast,Spincast and Spin seems to cast smoother.A:Â
I've used just about every Fluorocarbon out there: Sunline, Seguar, Vicious, Maxima, Hi Seas, BPS, Berkley and would only go back to Sunline if I really wanted to use Fluoro. Having said that, I switched ALL of my rods to Floroclear....from 8lb on a finesse spinning setup to 20lb on a pitching setup. I love this line...I can spend more time fishing and making casts...less time messing with my line or retying. This stuff is strong, tough, casts a mile, and is sensitive. Don't let people tell you fluoro is "invisible" no line is. I fished with a buddy yesterday in a gin clear lake..I caught 12 on a txrigged worm using 15lb floroclear. He caught 2 using Bekley 100%. Obviously the fish did't care about my line's visibility. I could feel every tap and horsed a couple out of the brush. I also got a rattle trap hung in a low hanging tree. I pulled an entire limb into the lake on 15lb floroclear!!!A:Â
Use the 100%! This stuff floats, has horrible memory, and stretches like crazy. The only positive is it casts a mile.A:Â
I had some Berkley Floro before the P-Line, and I constantly had rats nests on my spinning reel. Since I switched to the P-line, no issues. I did, however, put less on the reel, but it sure casts smoother and is easy to see in mist green.A:Â

this line is easier to cast. Fluoro is more invisible and more abraison resistant. This line is just fluoro coated. It will stretch a bit more than fluoro too.A:Â
I have tried all of the berkley floro lines and I always had 1 problem with them. I had trouble tying the Rapala knot. You have to wet your line but it breaks on the final pull and I noticed on other knots it would fray in a way. P-Line is a hybrid and I think a lot better of a line. It pulled bass to pike in on 8 lb test. I used it in Canada for smallmouth and largemouth bass with no problems, except with any line it helps to check or retie your knot every now and then. I use this line on my spinning and baitcast reels with no problem at all.A:Â
I have used the Vanish. FLUOROCLEAR line is not 100% fluorocarbon. I will never use Berkley again. It breaks like crazy. I use Triple Fish 100% Fluorocarbon or Bass Pro Shops XPS 100# Fluorocarbon. Fluoroclear line is a copolymer and far out performs any fluorocarbon on the market in strength and flexibility. I use it for carolina rigging, crankbaits, weightless plastics just to name a few. If you wanted to you could use it for anything except pulling hawgs outta thick cover or trees. STAY AWAY FROM THE BERKLEY VANISH!!!Answers

It still sinks but not as quickly as pure fluorocarbon line.A:Â
It sinks faster than mono but not as fast as flurocarbon. I've had a little trouble using slow moving top water baits.

No. It floats like mono BUT doesn't absorb water like mono so it doesn't stretch and break. Great line. THE best I've used in 20 years of fishing.

I would think so. Fluorocarbon does not absorb water much. This line is coated with fluorocarbon so it can't absorb much. It does have the mono core, which is less dense. I would guess it's somewhere in between but not quite as buoyant as mono.A:Â
Fluorocarbon sinks faster because it has more mass per square inch. The Fluorocarbon has a tendency to float but it still works great for a texas rig.

Honestly, it depends on the bait weight. Most of my baits don't have it sink at all, but using heavy baits with sinkers and all make it sink some.1 of 1
