Second 3000yd spool. I fish the TX. gulf coast bays and holds up very well in oyster filled areas. Very tough. When this is gone I'll buy the third spool.

This line was recommended to me by 1 of the salesman at bass pro las vegas and he was right. I have now just purchased a second 3000yd spool of 12# moss green. The only complaint is the line memory when using it on a spinning reel but with the use of a good line spray that problem almost goes away. This is why I only gave it a 4 since there was no way to give it a 4.5. I use it for all my lake fishing. I fish mostly for stripped bass on Lake Mohave on Nevada/Arizona boarder. Even while troiling if the line snags it slows the boat down before it breaks off. Before buying this line I thought all mono's where the same but this brand has great strength and cast great also.

This is the best line by far of any I have used. I have used this line for at least 8 years now buying 3000 yard bulk spools in multiple sizes. It actually breaks about double its rated test. It has the perfect amount of stretch to avoid break offs on hook sets. It does have a little memory which can be tamed easily with KVD line conditioner. Tie a good knot and this line will not leave you crying in your beer !

Rated 4 out of 5 by MaxZmus Great in the high test, bad in the low test
When I first started fishing p-line cxx I was so amazed at the pure brute strength that this line offers. In fact I loved this line so much that I purchased the bulk 3,000yd spools from 2lb all the way to 30lb. Later I noticed that this line is very stiff and has a lot of spool memory, in other words it stays coily. Eventually I stopped using it on my freshwater outfits where lite lines and long distance casting was needed. You just don't get much distance casting this stuff. More times than not I would end up backlashing on my baitcasting reels. On the flip side, I almost wouldn't trust any other line for all my saltwater applications. On the larger saltwater spools you don't get as much line memory. So when I do get bit I could rely on the strength of CXX to horse in the fish without much worries. I just want to end my review(opinion) with this, for lighter finesse freshwater techniques, I prefer soft, plyable, castable lines(2-12lb). In the higher 15lb + tests for saltwater, you can be assured this will hold up.

Trielene 100% transiton gold is the only longlasting castable lineA:
memory is the only problem but strength and strech and abrasion is very good. use a line spray for the memory.Top 500 Contributor

You might try braided line. I use PowerPro and SpiderWire Stealth on spinning and baitcaster reels. This line is expensive, but it lasts a very long time. I put the heavier (20, 30 & 40lb.) line on the baitcasters. If you've never used braid you're in for a treat. Watch you don't break a rod or cut your fingers. Good luck.A:
If low memory, no stretch and abrasion resistance are your requirements, you need to stay away from all monofilament lines. If you are willing to tolerate a little stretch, try XPS Fluorocarbon Line. It has much less stretch than mono, is low memory and extremely abrasion resistant. If you want zero stretch, try Excel Braid. Excel is zero memory, no stretch and extremely abrasion resistant.Details:

It's Copolymer, so I'd say it's a form of monofilament.A:
This line is good for saltwater for many applications. It is not braided.1 of 1
