These hooks have the longer shank for better use in most 12 inch and larger worms. It helps during hook setting in deeper water.

Just like the old saying; "Just what the Doctor ordered!". I've been using 5/0 hooks for the 10" worms because that's the biggest hooks I could find, and they worked fine, but the thicker 12" worms were just a little to "fat" for the 5/0 hooks, but these oversize hooks have just a little bit of a X-tra width in the bend making them a "SEMI-EWG", the 7/0 are "Just what the Doctor Ordered". Try'em and I'm sure you'll be glad you did.

I started using these hooks, Owner Model 5110 Oversized, in size 7/0 for the big Stik-O and found a great advantage over any of the larger sized wide gap hooks. I now use the 11/0 with the 7 /18' Stik-O- and the hook up ratio is even better. The hook looks gigantic until you get the big Stik-O threaded on . It then looks correct and obvious. The hook point fits neatly into the worm 'collar' and no longer appears out of proportion. The larger hook is also made with heavier guage wire than the 7.0. Either size is highly recommended for large plastic. I think you will very pleased with any Owner hook.
