- Unique offset to jaw-hook fish
- Forged hook point with a corrosion resistant finish
Serious saltwater anglers find Owner’s Mutu Light Circle Hooks ideal for rigging both live and chunk baits. These premium Mutu Light Circle Hooks are designed with a unique offset, ''hangnail'' point so fish are jaw-hooked, not gut-hooked, approximately 90% of the time. Super-sharp forged point with a corrosion-resistant finish. Plus, the lighter wire used on these hooks allows for a livelier bait action. Models 5114 and 5314

I have experimented with about every hook out there for stocked trout. I don't keep the trout so I release everything I catch. The problem is I still like to catch them. All of the hooks I have used, until the owner mutu, have given me problems. trout swallowing the hooks and injuring the fish even when I cut the line and leave the hook. I use a # 10 and I get easy hook sets and can release the fish unharmed. This is even a great hook for those that keep the trout. Most stocked trout fishermen use # 14 or # 16 trebles with floating dough bait. Most of the time the trout swallow the hook causing you to cut your line and re-tie another hook. Lost fishing time and taking your attention from other rods in the water. The Owner mutu # 10 will eliminate problems allowing ease of hookup and quick removal of hook ---- back to fishing again.

I use these hooks with live shad to catch striper/wipers. I've landed some nice fish with these small hooks. Haven't had a broken hook yet

These hooks are excellent.
They are extremely sharp and strong, and don´t rust easily even when used in salt water.
Last night while shore-fishing for bass, I caught a 49 lbs. catfish on a # 6 Owner Mutu Light Wire circle hook baited with a minnow. The attached photo shows how nicely it was hooked. The fish was released, after the photo was taken.

I've used these in #6 black as live bait hooks for Smallmouth Bass fishing with 3" fathead minnows. They work well: minnows stay on well even with the barb smashed, and all bass were lip hooked nicely.

Size 10 worked great for panfish. Caught a bunch - but not one was gut hooked.A:Â
Hook size should match your bait size. probably a size 6 or smaller for a bass minnowA:Â
I've caught Bluegill on a #8 while trout fishing. I'd say #8 or smaller should work for panfish.A:Â
yo Wheelchair,The # 10's work great on all panfish that i've caught so far and I've caught some small one's and some great big one's.
Perhaps a #12 would work better but bass pro doe's not have them. hint hint

I have both #6 and #2 hooks. I'v caught 3" long panfish with the #6 and 1/2 pound ones on the #2 hooks. I would go with #2 to #1/0 for the bigger panfish and #6 or #4 if you are trying to catch some catfish bait.A:Â
Yes, these work on most fish, including saltwater. I would use a small hook for panfish. I would try Some #8 of #10.Good Luck

Yes perfect and I would still use the #4 hook in Red as well. I always used a smaller hook then I started using the #4 Mutu Circle hook and i will never go back or use another style. Good luck !A:Â
I have used size 8 and size 10 to catch trout. These sizes should also work well on panfish such as crappie or bluegill.Top 500 Contributor

Circle hooks are great for panfish, as they usually end up in the fishes lip rather than in their throat. The trouble is that many manufacturers don't make them very small. Owner (my favorite design of this hook) makes them down to size 6 and Gamakatsu make them down to size 8, but Eagle Claw makes them all the way down to size 14. I recommend a size 8 or 10 for panfishing.Top 50 Contributor
