This tube is great because you sit so much higher than others. It allows for better casting, I think. It will take a few minutes to pump up but it is worth it.

I purchased this boat the other day and took it on a lake, it performs great! The boat keeps you up out of the water so your gear stays drier and with neoprene waders you stay comfortably warm. It maneuvers through the water easily and quickly. The only problems I had was that with the seat raised out of the water when you kick your flippers you disturb the surface, a lot, which might affect your presentation. The other problem was that it was windy and although I wasn't pinned in a corner of the lake, I had to focus all my effort on kicking to get back to the boat launch (the rest of the lake was marshy, surrounded by trees, and inaccessible) and couldn't fish at the same time, but all boats are like that you just have to find a day that isn't windy. Other than that this boat is excellent and very comfortable, if your looking for a boat buy this one.

I have used this float tube for over two years. It is extremely confortable ti sit and and fish from for hours. No worry about sliding out. Plently of storage for baits and gear. I made myself some plastic hand paddles that work very well, rather than my flippers. A real joy to fish for bass from. I use it in a good size lake with lots of stick-ups and weeds. When you hook a big bass, you can easily pull yourself right to the fish rathere than trying to pull the bass through a thick mat of weeds. I bought my 2nd one for my grandsone to go with me.

I got two of these fish cat 4 tubes and have used the heck out of them. they set up quick and glide across the water with little effort. these tubes track very well and when the wind picks up there low profile design dosent let the wind take you for a ride like other tubes , they also keep you high out of the water which will let you stay dryier and be able to cast better. so if your in the market for a tube look no further.

Have you had any feed back regarding useing the Fish Cat on smaller mountain rivers and creeks.
Answers
A:Â
I would not recommed useing a float tube on a river. They are designed for still water. If a river is moving very slow it would be alright but remenber if you are going downstream yo have to kick back up stream aginst the current.Answers
A:Â
The new one are better. Remember to always leave part of your tube in the water when you take a shore break. If you have to bring it on shore place it in the shade. While out of the water the Sun will weaken the stitches in the zipper and the seams.Answers
A:Â
It will hold you but you will ride lower in the water. Remember that you will be placing items in the pouches and that will increase your weight. You might consider the Outcast Fat Cat as it is rated at 350 lbs capicity.A:Â
My nephew weights 220 and he pushes his comfort level is this. I would NOT recommend this item for youA:Â
It is rated for 250 lbs but I do not show a problem with 267. I would not if say over 280 or more.Q:Â

What are the measurements of the float when it is deflated? I'm wonder if I can fit it in my SUV
Answers
A:Â
When deflated you can fold it over and the fold it again. It will fit in the SUV just deflated. I carry mine in the back of a jeep. Always deflate it before storing it and before going up in altitude as the increase in altitude will cause any air in it to expand. When you reach your destination you can blow it up.Details:Â
What's the best way to inflate? Is a motor-inflator worth it? does it come with an inflator?Answers
A:Â
It does not come with a air pump. I recommend a( K Pump )as it is made of polyethylene and by lifting one piece and pushing it over the other one will push a lot of air with each stroke. Depending on the type valve on the tube you may need to attach a small plastic tube on the end of the pump. You could use a electric pump but the K Pump is a very easy one to use and cheaper than a electric one.
A:Â
I use a manual, dual action pump. Even if you choose to get an electric or battery operated pump, have a manual for back-up AND BRING IT WITH YOU EVERYTIME. You will not be happy if those fail (and they eventually will) or your batteries die and you have no back-up.Top 500 Contributor
A:Â
Hammerhead Dave, just go with a Double shot standard pump. The Double action pump has you inflated in less than three minutes and it comes with the fittings.Answers

The stripping apron in front of you will keep you from sliding. Adjust your back rest straps to keep you sitting straigt up and not leaning back and you will not slide forward.I have never slid of the seat in my Fat Cat or my Fish Cat 4.

I was wondering the same thing, but when I got the boat and tried it the seat is far enough back, and angled so that there are no doubts that you'll stay seated. Hope this helps!A:Â
I have this tube and what I do is lay the seat back just a little and I don't have a problem with sliding out...hope this helpsA:Â
The striping apron helps, but honestly you sit back far enough to not have to worry. I have had this model for over 4 years and use it around 20 times a year and have not had an issue.Q:Â

A lake I like requires that inflatables be four chamber, Coast Guard approved. How many chambers in this model?
Answers
A:Â
To the best of my knowledge the Fish Cat 4 has 2 bladders, 1 on each side.A:Â

twoA:Â
The Outcast Fish Cat 4-LCS Float Tube only has two chambers. I do not believe that any float tube is Coast Guard approved and I have never heard of any float tube having four actual chambers. The Outcast's Fish Cat 4 Deluxe LCS Float Tube has an inflatable seat and backrest; but these cannot be considered as Chambers. It is always advisable to wear a Personal Floatation Device (PFD) while using a float tube and this should be Coast Guard approved. I suggest that you buy a PDF that is not too bulky or long, to give you maximum freedom whist in the tube, but ensure that it is still suitable for your weight.
A:Â
Not sure if it is Coast Guard approved or not, but I have this model and it has two chambers. There are two air bladders on each side that are 'banana' shaped that run from the black tips on the front where they come together at the back. Hope this helps.1 of 1
