Orvis' Mirage prepares you for success on the water better than other tippet material—nylon or fluorocarbon. Mirage tippet has a refractory index of .09, making it virtually invisible to fish. It has a specific gravity of 1.76—denser than water (1.0)—which means that Mirage will sink below the surface film, eliminating any unwanted shadows that might spook fish. Very strong, excellent abrasion resistance, virtually invisible. Highly recommend worth every penny. Love the design of the spool.

This line has served me well. It is very strong and easy to work with, if 4x and under can be easy to work with.
This line holds any knot you can throw at it well and is forgiving on those jagged rocks and underwater trees.
This line pretty much disappears underwater and works well for those spooked finned critter.
Currently using the 4x coupled to the scientific angler floating WF-5X and some 20lb backing and have had great luck with it. It moves nicely in the drift and adjust very well.

This is hands down the best tippet material ever made. I have fooled many of large weary trout with the Orvis Mirage Tipper. This tippet is so good, it catches trout even in the 4X size! Using Mirage 4x, I have caught several 20"+ rainbows, and many, many more. It also has so much on one spool, it's great. The knots seat so well, I attach mirage flouro to regular mono leader with a bloodknot and it holds like a champ every time!
