I must say that I once I received the Access 5wt 9ft 905-4 midflex from Orvis I never picked up my White River 270 rod again. What an upgrade.
It casts really well, better shooting and accuracy.
like the guy before, i also matched the rod with the Access mid arbor reel. You can't beat Orvis quality, warranty and their customer service with a 9ft stick.

First off, it is MADE IN THE USA
I purchased the 10' 5Wt and love it. I use it to fish in the surf here in Southern California. The rod cast great, and handles larger flies, and has that little extra length for casting, float tubing, & nymph fishing. I matched it with the Access reel for a well balance combo.
I fish the ocean with it at least 3 days a month throwing crazy charlie's, merkin's, & clauser's. It was one of my favorite purchases last year.

I own the 4wt, 6wt, 8wt, and 10wt Orvis Access rods. Have fished everything from Brook Trout to Tarpon on these rods. Amazing casting power combined with plenty of backbone when it counts. Also Orvis Access rods come with an UNCONDITIONAL 25 year warranty. I snapped my 8 wt in car door and in 2 weeks i had a brand new section of rod. The access rod blanks are the same at the Orvis Helio's blanks. For the money you are getting a rod that far out performs any other in its price range, with a warranty that is unmatched. Do your homework on these rods and you wont be disappointed. I bring mine all over the country and I have yet to find a place where they have not stacked up.

This was a really nice rod up to the point where it broke in half. My first time using the rod I was smallmouth fishing on the Potomac River and caught about a dozen nice ones when suddenly the rod broke during casting. I was really upset because I was really liking the rod a lot up to that point. It was casting really well.
