I have a couple of these lights. One i mount on my truck when camping. And the other on my boat. They work at advertised as being weatherproof since i have had waves spash over it and it still works. For the recreational boater this will be good. I was impressed with how much light it put out compared to what i was expecting. A bonus ;). The cold cathode light is good for having a little extra light to fumble around.

I've had one for about 2 years now. It is great if it works ! Sometimes the light will not go up or down . Sometimes it won't go left or right. When it does work properly it is not bright enough. I night fish on Toledo Bend which is a big lake (186,000 acres). Sometimes you need to run 40 to 50 mph to escape weather. This light is not strong enough to run that fast. You overrun your beam. Optronics or someone needs to make a 2 mil.bow mounted light.

I bought the Optronics RC-550M and the first time I tried it, it worked great. The mount is poor, though, so I attached industrial strength Velcro to the rubber base and to my boat. After using the light only once more, now the remote control (motion only) doesn't work. The lights still work great, but it won't move in any direction at all. I thought I was getting a great deal on a remote controlled light, but I guess "you get what you pay for".

I've had this light for several months; I've just opened and used for the first time. The light works great, I'm going to buy the permanent mount from Bass Pro if they have and place on my T-Top. I would tell anyone what a great product, priced right also.........
