Perfect for family fun and fishing adventures, the Saranac 146 XT Canoe by Old Town delivers stability, durability and outstanding performance in an affordable package. Loaded with innovative features geared towards making floats more comfortable, convenient and enjoyable, the Saranac 146 XT features contoured, padded bow and stern seats with seatbacks and a molded, center bench seat ideal for children or small passengers. The center bench seat is designed with a covered storage compartment, molded-in rod holder, storage trays, cup holder and 6'' hatch, while the stern and bow seats incorporate a variety of extras including cup holders, rod holders, paddle rests and storage trays.
Constructed from thermoformed polyethylene for superior impact and abrasion-resistance, the Saranac 146 XT Canoe is designed with a flat bottom, straight sides and moderate rocker. The flat bottom design provides tremendous stability on calm water, straight-sides increase secondary stability and allow for easier paddling while the moderate rocker allows for good tracking and maneuverability. The paddler-friendly shape along with lowered seat design ensures the Saranac 146 XT Canoe paddles better than most recreational canoes on the market. Molded-in carrying handles offer easy transport, portaging and car topping, while vinyl gunwales provide added durability. Color: Green. Made in USA. Manufacturer model #: 012807610.

While some Old Town canoes are designed to handle up to 5 horsepower motors, we generally recommend that motors on traditional double ended canoes be limited to 3 hp.
One horsepower is approximately equal to 15 pounds of thrust. For 3 hp try a 45 lb thrust and for 5 hp try 75 lb thrust.
