The Okuma Makaira Special Edition Lever Drag Reels are gaining an enthusiastic following due to their durability, drag systems and cranking power. These two-speed, high performance reels utilize special screw ports around side plate screws to reduce water/corrosion buildup. Makaira Special Edition Reels have an open top frame design and open spool bearings with TSI-301 oil, increasing freespool by 2.5 times. All non-spool bearings have a full grease pack for maximum longevity. Other features include gunsmoke and black anodizing. A yellowfin tuna is etched into the side plate. A machined out frame increases clearance between the spool and cross bars. A ratcheting drag lever and drag cam allow precise drag settings. Heavy-duty, 17-4 grade stainless steel drive and spool shafts assure smooth reliability, and a forged aluminum reel foot and clamp sport a Type III anodized finish. A lug and plug system is included for use with or without harness lugs. Manufacturer's five year limited warranty.
