This seems like it will be a decent topwater lure once you make some modifications to the hooks. Out of the box, the treble hooks would become entangled with each other on most of my casts. Smaller split rings on the hooks seemed to fix the issue. I'm going to use mine for freshwater bass fishing, but one might opt for hooks with shorter shanks if they're worried about the compromised strength of having smaller split rings when fighting big saltwater fish. This thing is very buoyant as well, so you really have to reel to get it to drop below the surface. Having fluorocarbon line tied on had no effect on the acton for me. I've only tried it out once and have yet to catch anything, but the action on this thing fished with a slow retrieve looks very enticing for a topwater bite.

The first time i ordered these baits I was just looking for shallow running crank baits. I fish bass in Minnesota and this lure performed better than all other shallow crankbaits i have ever tried. It is too bad they are relegated to the saltwater area of your catalog. This is a great bait for both largemouth and smallmouth bass. I believe it is due to the very loud audible rattle. Also the action is great. I have placed a second order for 18 additional lures. Would like to see a better color selection. I keep two rods with this lure in rod locker at all times.

I have been absolutely crushing the reds on this bait in the shallow back lakes and shorelines. Have also picked up some nice Trout... Cannot wait to fish this bait again.
