Our Offshore Angler Tightline Spinning Reels are saltwater warriors, with aluminum frame and sideplates, stainless steel bail wire, brass and zinc alloy gearing, 6 bearing system including Powerlock instant anti-reverse, and machined aluminum handle and spool. It's a powerful, rigid workhorse that can handle multiple species of sea-going gamefish. The braid grip arbor on the spool anchors your line, and the carbon fiber and Teflon drag imparts smooth, consistent fish fighting pressure.
The Tightline spinning rod is built to be sensitive, lightweight and incredibly strong. The blank is a hybrid of carbon and fiberglass, with great sensitivity and just the right amount of flexibility. Stainless steel guides with aluminum oxide inserts prevent saltwater corrosion, and the EVA handles are slip-resistant and lightweight.

by N807 Catfishing rig
I bought this rig to catfish with. I lined the reel with Power Pro 65lbs braid. I have no complaints what so ever. I have caught plenty of Flatheads on it with no problems. The reel is very smooth, even while reeling in fish. The rod has good sensitivity, and is strong. Bottom line is I would recommend this combo.

This rod snapped during my first outing. Don't waste your money trying to save money...buy a better rig and skip this one. If I could rate it 0 stars, I would.

Bought this one instead of the PENN that is $20 more to save money. BIG MISTAKE! Reel seized up on me after getting splashed and rod snapped the second time I took it out. Just spend the extra $20 and buy a PENN. I took this one back and exchanged/upgraded for the PENN and I have not had any issues with it. Works so much smoother and is more reliable. DO NOT SKIMP ON THE QUALITY, BUY THE PENN
