There are times and there are places where using an IGFA line isn't all that important—because getting the fish to the boat is the only thing that really matters. That's when you load your reel with Offshore Angler™ Tight Line™ superior-grade monofilament. Ultra-low stretch, small diameter, and amazing abrasion resistance take this line's performance far beyond that of regular monofilaments. Try it, and we predict you'll soon find yourself casting into nastier holding places—because for the first time, you know you can get the fish out. Besides, let's face it: snook and grouper don't fight fair, so why should you? It's time to take off the kid gloves—spool up with Tight Line!
“Since recently spooling up my 30# reels with the 30# Offshore Angler Hi-Vis Tightline here in Costa Rica on my charter boat “Bushwacker” I have caught lots of sailfish and 4 blue marlin so far. We fought the blue marlin from 30 minutes to 2 hours and 40 minutes with up to full drag for much of the fight and the line was not even scuffed. That is pretty impressive.”
Awful 8 lb test
I have used this line in 10 and 12lb test in the past and was very satisfied with it. I bought a spool of 8lb test recently and it has way too much memory. After less than an hour of fishing it wind knots and backlashes like no other line I've ever used. Like I said before the 10 and 12 lb test is great, but the 8lb is awful!!

I have been using tight line for years for making rigs and leaders because of its abrasion resistance and knot strength. I have tried other brands in a pinch but always come back to tight line.

Among the Worst I've Used
In an attempt to save a little money, I bought a spool of this 20lb line instead of my regular Stren 17lb line. I think the bright yellow color appealed to me, along with the whopping $2 I saved. I used this for a week of catfishing and, along with Cajun Line, this is tied for the worst line I've ever used. It's incredibly stiff, and the memory is terrible. The line made a mess every time I cast, and a it made a bigger mess when I retrieved it. It's strong, and it's cheap, but even those qualities aren't enough to make up for it's stiffness and memory retention. Spend the extra $2 on Stren or Berkley and have a lot fewer headaches out on the water.

I have it on 2 baitcasters and one spinning so far. Seems to work pretty well on the spinning reel, although....to be fair, I need to order a smaller line diameter for the spinning reel, then it would work even better.
