I use these to connect my main line to the yellowbird planers for which I add a large split ring to the barrel swivel. I've seen too many of the cheap plastic ones break at their plastic ring and figured one day I'd lose a planer as a result. I now fish with confidence that this probably will not happen as my main line is heavy braid with only a #20 mono leader behind the planer. I've hung many snags on the river and broke off lures and leaders, but not with this sleeve have I lost a planer.

these look like the same thing we use on high tensil electric fence for splicing. we either use the crimping tool which is identical to what basspro sells or a large pair of vicegrips. I bottom fish and have them above the weight without any problems.1 of 1
