Rated 4 out of 5 by caster12 good design
I've used these jigheads, primarily in the 1/8 and 1/4 ounce sizes, for a number of years in saltwater. This style sheds weeds & floating "grass" better than others I've tried, and is well suited for shrimp-style bodies and jerkbaits. However, the hook is "soft" and I've lost a number of redfish (over slot size) due to the hook straightening out, on the 1/8 ounce size, in spite of using very light tackle (10 lb braid & 12lb flouro leader). A forged hook would be a great improvement.

Very good shapeand have caught many fish off of these. Work very well with gulp shrimp or paddle tail plastics. Only negative is that the paint chips off very easily. Would recommend going with the natural lead.

I bought these to fish in the Albermarle Sound in the OBX. At first I thought the hook shank was too short, but then realized that was what allowed me to give my Berkley Gulp shrimp bait that "kink" to allow it to look and stand up like a real shrimp.

Hello everyone,Thanks for the useful comments above. Can anyone provide the hook size for these jigheads? Also, are there different hook sizes for the 1/8, 1/4, and 3/8 oz. sizes?
Thanks,
Tom from Maryland

A:
The hook sizes are increasingly larger as the jig weight is increased. The hooks used in the 1/8 ounce size are too soft.A:
The 1/8 oz is a size 1 hook, 1/4 oz is a 1/0 hook, the 3/8 oz is a 2/0 hook.A:
Yes, they have 1/16th through 3/4 oz jig heads, I believe the hook size is 2/0 J Hook1 of 1
