This jighead will hold a bait made with 3X plastic (made with Cyber Flexx) by Strike King for a full day of fishing. I have actually used one bait for three days of constant casting. The caveat here is to be very careful when unhooking a fish since the wire keepers on the jighead will puncture your fingers...I always use pliers...also, much more force is required to affix the lure to the jighead. The head also holds other baits such as a Gulp shrimp very well.

Worked very well in the grass. Best feature is th wire "hooks" that keep the bait in place.

The streamlined shape of these jigheads is excellent, but the two opposite facing wires on the neck will rip and ultimately destroy a plastic bait in a matter of a few casts. Opt for the Deluxe Shad Jighead instead.

I'm doing a boundary waters(BWCA) trip in June. I wanna through Gulp and Alive grubs, flukes and swim baits 3" to 6". I'll bring a variety of jigs and hooks. These look like they work good with gulp but I don't want the hooks to be too short on the longer baits.Answers

The hook sizes appear to vary according to the different weights. I use an 4 inch Strike King 3X swim bait and it performs very well but much more force is needed to affix the bait to the head...... but will never slip ...A:Â
I use the 1/2oz with a 6" swim bait. The hook is long enough, and I go without a stinger hook for northern pike in WI and Ontario. These would work well there (been there 3 times) though I'm not sure about sizes below 1/2oz, and the 1/2oz is probably too big for a 3" anything.1 of 1
