I've caught several nice (4-8lbs) Redfish, flounder, Largemouth bass, speckled trout, Striper, Hardhead catfish, and Gar with this combo. Great for a medium "all-water" action rod, I use this in both fresh and salt, lake and beach fishing. Considering the price this is a great value, and even if I forget the WD40 right after a fishing trip it still resists rust. GREAT VALUE!

I recently purchased this rod and caught two stripers from the shore in New Jersey. It's a little heavy in terms of weight, but it got the job done. I would probably buy something a little smaller on my next purchase, but overall I have nothing bad to say.

This rod and reel combo is outstanding. Its very strong and has like ten guides on it (9ft. version). The reel has a nice handle and is very smooth at reeling it in. I have had it now for over a YEAR and I am very impressed with its durabilty!

I ordered the sl70 and the powerstick and the reel did not even fit the pole. I could not get the reel to tighten up to the pole.
