Nice reel, can not say the same for the rod. The handle is way too big, unless your Andre the giant.
When I returned the combo to the store the clerk said all salt water rods are big like this. Ah the joy of a 63 year old man attempting to communicate with a 20 year old Einstein.

THIS ROD & REEL COMBO HAS PROFORMED FLAWLESSLY UNDER EVERY CONDITION I'VE PUT IT , THAT INCLUDES A 2HR FIGHT WITH A FISH THAT BEGAN ON A PIER & ENDED ON A BEACH.IT HAS ALSO WITHSTOOD THE HANDS OF MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE. GREAT PRODUCT!

You should be fine for mahi and king, but wahoo are fast and will burn all the line off that reel with no problem. Better off with a conventional like a shimano tld 25 for the wahoosAnswers
