Offshore Angler Power Stick Stand-Up Rods
Great quality rod for a great price
I bought two of these 30-50 5'6 rods for offshore trolling on the Sea of Cortez. I mounted a Tyrnos 16 and TLD 20 on them respectively and they performed great. They are tough yet light, and the construction is of very high quality, not something you would expect at this price point. The gimbal is metal and the locking rings on the reel mount are sturdy. I only wish they had a 20-40 model.

Fantastic Tuna Rod
I just received the 6' 50-80 lb Offshore Angler Power Stick stand up rod. I immediately used it for a an offshore trip between 100 and 130 miles offshore at the Boomvang, Nansen and Hoover semi-submersible rigs. This rod handled big fish with ease and was a pleasure to use. We stopped short on a rock pile on the edge of the continental shelf and I pulled up 7 vermillion snappers (beeliners), 2 20 pound red snappers (couldn't keep them- the season was closed), a rock hind grouper, and a 56 lb Warsaw grouper. The rod handled these fish with ease. Then out to the deep rigs where it was really put to the test on tuna. I was speed jigging and landed 9 blackfin tuna from 8-22 lbs between 150 and 350 ft deep. The reel test came with the 127 lb yellowfin tuna I landed. The rod handled the job with no problems and I was able to land the fish in around 12 minutes with the drag locked down. I also caught what we estimated to be a 60 lb yellowfin with ease. This rod has the features and can hang with most if not all of the $200-$300 rods on the market. The one thing I wished was different is I wished I ordered the 6' 30-50 lb model. The heavier model I ordered overpowered the fish I was catching and took all the fight out of it. If you are a straight meat hunter, I guess this is okay, but I think the 50-80 lb model was meant for fish much bigger than what I was catching.

Gave this rod a savage workout on blue sharks at Jeffery's Ledge in th Gulf of Maine. Rod was fine after tug of war with several big blue sharks.

This seems like a good rod for the money. I wish it came in 20 to 30 pound line class.
