If you're ready to go toe-to-toe with the bruisers of the deep, we've got your rods! Our Power Sticks offer true lightweight construction, yet you'd be hard pressed to find a rod of comparable strength at this price. Each model features a tough E-glass blank, super-durable black frame guides with titanium oxide rings, "speed butt" handle, anodized machined-aluminum reel seat, and gimbal butt with cap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sharkproof Gave this rod a savage workout on blue sharks at Jeffery's Ledge in th Gulf of Maine. Rod was fine after tug of war with several big blue sharks. September 26, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Rod This seems like a good rod for the money. I wish it came in 20 to 30 pound line class. March 26, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great quality rod for a great price I bought two of these 30-50 5'6 rods for offshore trolling on the Sea of Cortez. I mounted a Tyrnos 16 and TLD 20 on them respectively and they performed great. They are tough yet light, and the construction is of very high quality, not something you would expect at this price point. The gimbal is metal and the locking rings on the reel mount are sturdy. I only wish they had a 20-40 model. December 27, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by top rod Top quality rod, fast and sensitive, i used for inshore trolling. September 21, 2010

A:
Yes - while light in weight, they are VERY heavy action rods. In my opinion they are overrated, ie. the 30-50 should be rated 50-60, and the 50-80 should be rated 80-100 lb line class.

A:
the 30-80 lb line class rods are heavy action. It should be noted that the 5-6 rods are stiffer than the 5-9 rods in the same line class. I have the 5-6 30-80 rods and I would consider them heavy action.
