Gave this rod a savage workout on blue sharks at Jeffery's Ledge in th Gulf of Maine. Rod was fine after tug of war with several big blue sharks.

This seems like a good rod for the money. I wish it came in 20 to 30 pound line class.

I bought two of these 30-50 5'6 rods for offshore trolling on the Sea of Cortez. I mounted a Tyrnos 16 and TLD 20 on them respectively and they performed great. They are tough yet light, and the construction is of very high quality, not something you would expect at this price point. The gimbal is metal and the locking rings on the reel mount are sturdy. I only wish they had a 20-40 model.

the 30-80 lb line class rods are heavy action. It should be noted that the 5-6 rods are stiffer than the 5-9 rods in the same line class. I have the 5-6 30-80 rods and I would consider them heavy action.Answers
