Rated 1 out of 5 by Ocean Master Reel I was extremely dissappointed with this reel. After using it for 2 days for off shore fishing the reel continiously would tangle the line under the spool, the reverse lock out would not function most of the time and the forward tang that locks the reel into the pole broke right off. To avoid ruining my trip I purchased a Penn reel which functioned flawlessly. I will be returning this item for a refund. September 23, 2008
Rated 4 out of 5 by one big reel!!! Huge line capacity, great drag, and long line retrive make this reel one of my favorite reels in my saltwater arsenal. I have this reel mounted to a 12' Ande rod, an awesome set-up for Surf fishing. The only down side to this reel is that it is BIG!!! I would recomend at-least a 10' rod for this reel. March 5, 2008

The reel is very sturdy and works very smooth, as soon as you put you hand on the handle, you will understand... Great Buy, I would highly recommend this reel to anyone that is into surf fishing... I usually use conventional reels like the Penn GTO, but i want to try something different in my pup shark fishing, but I would like to know, what is the biggest fish/shark you have caught on this reel?
