Ocean Master Spinning Rods are crafted from rugged, two-piece graphite/glass composite blanks that offer the optimal combination of light weight and instant flex recovery. We’ve lightened up these surf rods compare to the previous version by at 12-25% while keeping the same strength. The new diamond wrap reinforcement in the butt section of the rod for added strength. Other features include double-wrapped Fuji aluminum oxide guides, Fuji heavy-duty gunsmoke cushioned-hood reel seats, and rubberized composite cork handles for improved handling in wet conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by not for the weak I purchased this rod for surf casting for halibut from shore. The rod is a blend of cutting edge rod building trends without sacrificing a traditional handling feel. If mated with a emerging long cast Spinning reel, and a coated braided line, you will be able to touch the 265 yard casting range, provided you are not one of the weak! I am gratefully satisfied with this Rod.. thanks much February 13, 2013
