Rated 4 out of 5 by great reel i have had this reel for about three years and counting. the reel performs great out in the bay or fishing out at the coast. i have used for surf fishing and it got a little ruff, but a good cleaning and it was back to new February 10, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by great reel i have used the 2000 and it has worked fantastic i have caught redfish, trout, snook, and some red, black, and gag groupers and the reel has worked great! September 30, 2008
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great reel! Just got my ocean master 400 bait casting reel. Paired it with a 6 ft. heavy action uglystik bait casting rod. Loaded it with 50# test power pro line and proceeded to catch "alligator" bluefish in the 15# range one after the other, Reel handled them with ease. September 25, 2008
Rated 5 out of 5 Outstanding!!! I bought one of these (OM2000) on 7/18/08 and used them everyday in the Hampton Roads area. We caught tautog, black sea bass, flounder and speckled trout all day long for 5 days straight. I love this reel. An excellent value for the money and it worked flawlessly. July 28, 2008

I have a 4 year old reel and I can no longer get the line guide to flow freely back and forth. It looks like the piece which controls the back and forth distribution is cracked and will not allow it to move after it gets to the right side. Any suggestions?

send it to basspro repair shop. really cheap. if you look at the reel from the reverse side of levelwind there is a flat head screw cover. take the cover off and there is a pressure pin that rides the grooves on the shaft to turn the levelwind. you can replace the pin.

Details:
looks for looks there doesnt seem to be any difference between the OFA OM4000 and the Bass Pro Shops Muskie Angler round cast reels, i just want to know if they are the same, they look like it, and their descriptions are similar and so is their price so i was just wondering. Are they the same?

A:
The main difference between the Ocean Master Reel and the Musky Angler is that the Ocean master is a Casting reel specifically made for Saltwater. The Musky Angler is a Conventional reel that is specifically made for Freshwater. Thank you!

the roddy 175 by penn has almost identical internals and you can buy one online for less than $40.00 and just switch out the broken parts but if possible find a schematic for the reel
