I purchased several of these reels. Used them in salt and fresh water. Great casting and real good drag. Caught reds and stripers with no issues. However, seems there is always a but, I have not been able to keep them operational for a full season. Sent them to bass pro, paid for cleaning and tune up when I was unable to get them back going. Seemed good at first, but one conked out after first fishing trip, totally useless now and the second one seems loose and not casting well. I really thought I had found a great reel. Guess they are if you can afford to replace them each year.

I wish I could use my new OceanMaster OM20HA reel. It's a great reel except, I can't take it apart the side plate will not rotate to come off. I returned the reel to BPS. But the reel they had in stock plus the display model had the same problem. I think there's a defect from the manufacture. I hope they can get the problem solved. I really like this reel.

My new reel was promoted as a casting reel. NOT
It won't case without the line snarling. It even snarls when I am just letting out line.
Not a happy camper

Rated 5 out of 5 by rascal3 great reel!
I tried braided line first. was not quite what I wanted. then I went to a 14lb. mono and that did the trick for me. the reel seemed a little heavy at first, but after casting it a while I forgot about it and kept on chunching! this is one solid reel!
