I purchased this Ocean Master to travel with me to catch Tarpon in the Florida Keys, Islamarada. It worked well even though I prefer a one piece rod. I could not tell the difference and would highly recommend it on a trip. Also, the price is very affordable and reasonable for the quality put into this rod. By the way I caught and released three Tarpon on one trip.

Rated 4 out of 5 by WalleyeAssassin Best quality travel rod I've handled.
I bought the heavy action casting rod for a trip to central Florida, and this rod got a REAL workout. For a 3-piece rod, it still has decent sensitivity. Performed flawlessly flipping heavy cabbage on Okeechobee, wrangled a couple 6lb+ bass! Cast my DOA shrimp like butter for Trout, Snook and Reds in the Cocoa Beach area. I mostly use 1 piece rods, but I still use this rod for casting large swimbaits and jigs for Pike back home! Very pleased with this purchase. The only complaint I can come up with for this rod is it's weight. While not being overly heavy, I am used to lightweight rod's, so I definitely noticed the difference after a day on the water.

Quality is good and has a nice action. Not sure it should be rated for 4oz casting weight. Better than other similar brands I've seen though.

This is a great travel rod. My buddy and I got these - 1 casting and 1 spinning to take sailing in Belize last year. Trolled magnum X-Raps all week and caught everything. Wahoo, barracuda kingfish and a #250 shark without a problem. Amazing strength in a 3 piece rod.
