Offshore Angler™ Ocean Master® 2011 Surf Rods - Casting
Designed to deliver lures and heavy sinkers far past the breakers to a distant target, these rods have already won high praise from anglers and tournament casters. This is a game of balance, leverage, accuracy, and raw power that leaves lesser rods in splinters. These rugged two-piece graphite/glass composite blanks offer the right combination of light weight and instant flex recovery, and are equipped with double-wrapped Fuji® aluminum oxide guides, Fuji heavy-duty gunsmoke cushioned-hood reel seats, and EVA flanked rubberized composite cork handles for enhanced handling in wet conditions.

Bought one of the 10' 1-4oz models for my Blue Yonder and it seemed like the perfect match. Bought another BY and just had to get a matching 10'OM for it. I am extreamly pleased with the light weight and sensitivity of these rods. I may just get a 12' model for my Saltist 30h. These are great rods for the money.

Anyone worth their salt in surf fishing can pretty well tell you as far as value, nothing is going to touch the Ocean Master series. If you're looking for a rod to make the transition from Ugly Stiks and Daiwa Eliminators to the big leagues these rods are a great start. For $120 you get excellent components, excellent construction, and a rod that can handle about anything within reason you throw at it. The OM12H is famous along the Outer Banks as a heaver. Its capable of tossing an 8 oz. weight and half a whatever baitfish you've got as far as your muscles can make it; indeed its underrated as an 8-12oz capable rod. It will be a tough rod to load with anything less than 8 'n bait, but if you're fishing alot of turbulent water you won't mind this. The lighter rods enjoy an equally good, if less widespread reputation. Personally I've only got the OM12 8-12oz. model and I can definitely attest to its being bulletproof. Long days on and in the sand and water, hard pulls from big fish, hard flexes from casting heavy weight, it can handle it. I used the rod to fight in a good sized stingray in a current that bounced along an 8 oz. pyramid weight, this was no small task but the rod had the power to keep the big joker turned. Paired with a Penn 525MAG it'll put your bait over the bar. Paired with something like a Penn 545GS it'll happily drag in sharks until your arms are tired. My only complaint about this rod is its weight, but for its price the total package negates this one detractor.

This rod is fantastic ! I've owned a lot of surf rods, but this one is the best ever. It casts like a dream, and the feel is great when fighting a big blue fish or sand shark out of the surf. I have the 10' and am going to order the 12' for my trips to the Outer Banks of NC. It is a great rod for the price.
