The cast ability and strength of this rod is amazing! I own 2 of the 17-40 12"ers and I cast an 8oz weight with a football size chunk of ray into the surf to catch sharks... largest shark to date brought in by this rod is a 6' 6" bull shark!

These rods are serious fishing tools. They are a fantastic value and will give many years of enjoyment to anyone who owns them !
I have 2 OM-10 conventional rods with Penn 535" ( one is a PENN 535 MAG from the UK ), 2 OM-12 heavy heavers, one with a PENN 140L SQUIDDER and the other with a PENN 555GS reel.
I also have an OM-11 spinning rod . . . I really wish that OCEAN MASTER had a CONVENTIONAL version of the OM-11 ( are you listening guys ? ).
I have several custom surf rods, costing up to $500 each, but I find myself going back , more & more, to the OCEAN MASTERS . . . .
Whether you are fishing from the beach or from piers, these OCEAN MASTER rods are the "real deal" !
My next rod will be the OM-12 "lite" with a DAIWA SEALINE 30 SHA reel !
They are excellent rods . . . Get them and you won't be disappointed !

Great rod: The 10' can really toss a bait rig with 4oz lead, and I have no problem muscling in big stripers or aggressive blues. I have it paired with a Penn 209m levelwind and 20# Berkley Big Game. Killer combo.

After a lot of research and price comparisons, I went with the Ocean Master 12' Casting. Bass Pro Shops had it at my door in 2 Days. It was packed well in a heavy mailing tube. I had never purchased a rod online before and I was actually surprised when it came unharmed!
I took the rod to OBX NC that next week matched up with a Penn Squidder #140. It cast very well and gave me no problems. If taken care of this rod should give me years of use. I would recommend this rod to anyone looking for a decent rod at a good price.
