mini crimps these work great. i use heavy mono for blue cats and knots can be a problem. not anymore with these crimp sleeves. slide on and pop with the crimper and your ready to fight the big boys. i caught a 59 lb my first trip out with them and they performed flawlessly. January 18, 2011
Good crimps I love these crimps. They don't corrode wire, they are great for heavy mono and you can crimp them just about any way, but they will still work January 11, 2015
Great quality sleeves I use these sleeves on my 90 pound wire leader, that I use for Alligator Gar. Haven't had a single break off, I trust them completely. Awesome Product!! November 24, 2014
Need smaller Mini Double Sleeves! I have been using these mini sleeves to make all my leaders for a long time all around South Florida. Changing from copper to brass was a good move by Offshore Angler (Bass Pro Shops), no corrosion. There's one other good move that could be made--smaller sleeves. The current offering of .8mm provides for 60 lb mono. I like to use fluorocarbon leader from 30 to 50 lb. The advantage of fluorocarbon is its invisibility. Smaller sleeves would provide less visibility and less area to snag on grass or cover. How about it Bass Pro Shops--OFFER SMALLER SLEEVES! June 21, 2011

A:
Flouro is short for flourocarbon monofiliment. If there is one strand of line that is not made up of seperate strands, it counts as mono. Yes, they will work. Try the 100 lb test size for flouro, but that might be a little too small for 80 lb flouro.

I use them with flouro frequently. For 80lb, I would use stock number 72156 with the 1.0 mm I.D.

A:
The fluoro line diameter is the same as mono, you would need to use the closest to the diameter of the 80# test which is 0.9mm.

A:
Sevenstrand wire is not like mono. You do not need to use the smallest usable crimps for wire. Using a crimp that is a little larger than the diameter of the wire will not cost you any strength if crimp is crimped correctly

A:
I surf fish regularly with 17lb line. I attach the 17lb to a 50lb shock leader and then attach that to a 100lb bite leader via a swivel. The swivel is crimped on one end of the 100 lb bit leader that I snell to the hook.
