Offshore Angler Magibraid Spectra Fiber Fishing Line - 1200 Yards
The Best Fishing line
The Offshore Angler Magibraid Spectra Fiber is the best in the world! I have been using this product for the past 5 years and there is just no comparison. It is excellent when fishing for steelhead with noodle rods. You are guaranteed a positive hook set with no stretch! The amazing thing is that this fishing line lasts 5-6 times longer than monofilament! I bought a spool 5 years ago and it still retains its strength. I spliced it with 10 feet of monofilament acting as a shock tippet and it is just perfect. I will never go back to monofilament!

inaccurate test weight
I spooled up 600 yards of the 80# braid and was disappointed at the break off percent. Just about every big fish on the line broke off. I know that everyones saying drag but the max drag is 35# on the reel so thats not it. Thought it was knots slipping so I did a little test at the house with new line and a digital scale. The 80# broke at and average of 37#. Thats a far cry from 80#. The line is only six months old from the date of purchase, but could very well have sat on the shelf for quite some time. Either way I would not recommend this line for big game saltwater.

Great inshore and bottom fishing line
I read the other review and I cannot vouch for this line in BIG Game offshore because I do not use braid for that. However, the #30 has become a staple that I could not do without on my boat for inshore and bottom/wreck/reef fishing for summer flounder, seabass, stripers and weakfish. In rough conditions where other guys are struggling to hold bottom with 6 ounces using mono the thin diameter and low stretch of this stuff has me holding botton with 2 ounces! And I have had no excessive issues where the braid gave out before the leader or terminal tackle, in fact my 30LB mono leader is what almost always gives out first if I get hung up on the structure.

I have ordered this product in the 50lbs version because I already used the 80 lbs version for saltwater tuna fishing and just loved it. Great for jigging and trolling. Very strong yet very limp. I have used braid before like spiderwire. I like this braid better as it is readily available in large spools and not that expensive. Been using it for 6-7 years on my Tekota and 6/0 Penn and have yet to replace it. Never had the line break either. Great stuff.
