The Strongest Saltwater Spinning Rod I use the INXS71222 model to fish during my travels worldwide. I have three of them. I have caught a 60lbs Yellowfin Tuna, a 70lbs Cubera Snapper (the strongest fighting inshore fish after the Giant Trevally) and several Mekhong Giant Catfish between 40 and 80lbs on it. The Mekhong Giant Catfish is a VERY strong freshwater fighter (it fights like a tuna), and it is known to be a rod breaker (check some videos on YouTube). Charter crew or fishing guides have made fun of me using this rod, as it looks like a "bass rod" not born for such heavy duty applications, but they learnt to respect it on the field. This rod is unbreakable. I highly recommend it for heavy duty applications, as well as a travel rod. December 4, 2014
great rod This is my first offshore angler rod and so far it is everything i wanted in a rod. March 24, 2014
Nice Inshore Rod I purchased this rod to go along with my Penn Spinfisher reel that I also bought at Bass Pros Shops Myrtle beach location. The rod is well made and I have plans to use it for Bluefish Spanish and Reds along with any other species that would like to be caught. I needed a 2 piece for traveling and this rod fits the bill perfect. Lots of backbone and will cast the extra weight lures needed to be used in heavy surf and higher winds. October 14, 2013
Sensitive yet Strong I would have given this rod five (5) stars, if not for the reel seat being so short. I just barely squeezed a Penn Spinfisher 5500SS into it, and it took a tool & effort to get it in. Come on, it won't normally fit a reel foot as common as Penn's? Ridiculous! That said, let me offer some praise. Sensitivity, this rod has it. I wasn't expecting a 8'6" MH rod to be so sensitive, I could feel every bump & jump as I worked a jig on the bottom. And felt every nibble from the Pinfish as they nipped at the shrimp tipper. Excellent Action! And it is strong, it handled a feisty 3' Atlantic Sharpnose shark with ease, as a MH should be able to. I also like the split grip, perfect length for me. Butt sits comfortably in armpit/upper ribs, away from all the water when I'm wading waist deep. And it is light, not a burden to wade around with for hours. Sensitive, Strong & Comfortable! Overall after a couple of trips, I'm happy with it, just as I have been for my other Offshore Angler rods. This is my fourth OA rod, I also have the Ocean Master-OMS12S, Cobia Special-OE81530 & Powerstick-PSS71017. September 3, 2013
