Works great This dehooker works great, quick un hooking and i use it for saltwater seeing the freshwater fish in Massachusetts don't have very much teeth, i use it on the coast of Maine and cape cod, also in myrtle beach. down here in salt water we have many fish with teeth such as bluefish, sand and porbeagle sharks and the occasional monk fish so id rather not stick my hand in the mouth of them, i actually dropped my dehooker off of a pier and watch it sink down pretty fast, instead of paying 8.00 for another i made one out a coat hanger and an old tank top and duct tape, I made it a little longer and it works just fine. i highly recommend this product. Dehooker The de-hooker doesn't work as well as a closed loop one. Struggled with a large fish while holding the handle because the hook kept falling out of the configuration on the end of the unit April 15, 2011
Handly little tool Once you get used to having a de-hooker you'll be hooked! These are great: inexpensive, durable and they work, you just need to get the hang of it. Great for quick releases. September 13, 2010
