I operate a charter fishing business in Valdez Alaska. I have not used this gaff yet, however I did have one just like it which I liked very much. While on a halibut charter my deck hand float tested my old gaff when he was gaffing a hundred plus pound fish. They don't float very good. My old one gaffed hundreds of fish and they do work very well. I am sure the new one will as well.

Not a gaff for offshore use. Almost lost Cobia because gaff bent in half!!! Just not sturdy enough.

great gaff, looks like it would back up my larger 6', which was my intention but one SMALL problem, maybe its my big hands, I cant get my hand thru the safety lanard on the end.
