I have been using this recently on 4" grubs bass fishing. I honestly can't get the grub to slide down the shank if I tried. Have caught 10+ fish on on grub, and have casted it as hard as I can with a large spinning outfit and it didn't budge. I fished a lot of rocks as well, and didn't notice that the paint chipped any easier than any other lead headed jig head.
The hook is also stout and fairly large, maximizing your hook up to strike ratio. This is a very good product!!

No kidding - For any plastic, or sponge soft bait this is great. Nothing gets off this jig head. I fish 3-4 days a week in Sarasota FL. 3- 20 feet of water. Some baits will tear off the pins - D.O.A.s and sometime Gulps. But Z Man will stay on all day of abuse from Lady Fish, Trout and Spanish Mackerel. And all of the other usual suspects. I really enjoy using them, Great idea

JUST GOT BACK FROM A TRIP TO VENICE LOUISIANA, USED THIS JIGHEAD WITH GULP SHRIMP, COCOHO MINNOW AND DEAD SHRIMP. THE KEEPERS WORK PERFECTLY TO KEEP BAIT FROM SLIDING DOWN THE HOOK. HOOKS ARE PLENTY STOUT AND LONG ENOUGH TO KEEP THE BAIT IN POSITION. CAUGHT BIG REDS OVER 27" LONG AND THEY HELD GREAT. THE PAINT COMES OFF AFTER MANY FISH BUT DIDN`T HURT THE EFFECTIVENESS OF IT

I was having a lot of difficulty keeping some of the soft plastic baits on the jig heads that I already owned. When I saw these at Bass Pro, I decided to try them. They worked fantastic. They did not tear up the bait and not the first bait came off of one of these jig heads while fishing for three straight days.

For example is one type of jig better for fishing on the bottom like for flounder and the other better for the middle or upper water column for trout?Answers
A:
I have not tried them in the north east for flounder - but in Florida's gulf coast they do fine. Move them low and slow. No hangups, and it holds Gulp better than any other jig head I have used.I use different weights to cont4rol depth. Been looking for a better jig head for 20+ years - This is it!
