Offshore Angler Circle Hook Leader Rig
Not for the big ones.
I purchased a couple packages of these in the 9" and 18" sizes on May 9 and got to try them out on May 10 down in Crystal River Fl. All in all they are very well built and I am happy with them for smaller fish. I did however, have a couple that came completely apart when I was hooked up into some bigger fish. I dont know how to discribe the way the wire is secured to itself on these leaders because the manufacturer does not crimp or haywire twist them together but rather uses another method. For all out toothy critter action best to use crimped wire or a haywire twist, but for the small stuff these will fit the bill.

I bought 2, 5 packs of these hooks. Of the 6 rigs i put on my 50lb leader i lost 5 of them. They all looked like they just unraveled. I was fishing for 45 to 50lb bull redfish and blacktip sharks. I lost 3 rigs one evening and decided to put my homemade 450lb rig with a #15 circle hook, only because i didnt want to lose anymore fish. I pulled in a 45lb black tip shark. The shark had two of my red circle hooks on each side of his jaw. I was the only person on that beach that night. I got those two hooks back. I will not buy these rigs again! The hooks are great, the rig is not so great! It did catch me one 47 inch black tip shark the previous night on one of these rigs!

good product for the money
These leaders are good for the price. We use them red snapper fishing and its easy to just tie one on when you break a line. They are not the highest quality on the market but they are good enough to get the job done. Buy these and pay alot less for for the entire hook, swivel and leader than you would for just the hooks on a name brand rig.

Great on catfish!
We used these hooks with leaders on big catfish. Even though the hooks we bought were too small for the size fish we caught, they worked perfectly - we lost no fish AND all were hooked in the corner of their mouths! The leader made it easy to boat the fish that were too heavy to lift using the main line. I'm buying a lot more!
