Offshore Angler Chum Cage
Gotta Have One
I bought one of these chum cages and took it to Alaska; I stuffed full of Herring, attached it to my coastlock right above my spreader bar, circle hook, et cet; we were fishing between 100 and 200 feet. It worked like a charm. I caught 6 halibut the first day; the second day, my line got fouled on the bottom and I lost the whole shabang. I am taking extras up next year just in case. . . .everyone should have one of these!!!!

worth the money but....
Brought this cage last week and been dying to try it. Finally went fishing for tautog and sea bass. Clipped the cage on above the conventional two hook bottom rig. Definitely out fished everyone else on the boat two to one. Only problems were 1) the swivel is light weight and had to be replaced before it broke. The weight of the rig with an 8 oz sinker and two five lb tautog was too much for the swivel and 2) It also bent the cage out of shape so I had to use a zip tie to keep the door closed tight. Small price to pay for a great little chum cage.

Works great --have ordered twice already
Great fishing tool. Has swivel already so fast to use. Had one line down with the bait cage and one without. The one with the cage caught all the fish. Really. They are little jewels! One thing we had to do is put a small clip on the cage door because it opened a couple times when the fish bit it instead of the hook. That worked great. We later found the contents of the cage in the fish's stomach. (And as an extra bonus, they make cool fishing Christmas decorations. :)

Put some ground chum in the cage and hung it on the bridle on my lobster hoop. Only net in the first string with a keeper...
