Rated 4 out of 5 by captains choice i got this reel 2 years ago. i have had any problem with it so far. i have gotten sharks, bat ray, sculpin, calico bass rock fish, sheephead good for bottom but not so good for top water or live bait September 19, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for the Price I work on a Head Boat on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and we use a combination of penn senator 4/0's and capt. choice 4/0's. I must say that i prefer the capt. choice. They seem to be very durable and believe me when i say that we know how to abuse a reel, not to mention the gear ratio is much better. The only problem I've found with them is that the bearing on the left side of the reel seems to fall out and get lost very easily. If bass pro can come up with a way to fix the bearing problem it will be hands down one of the most durable reels you can find for the price. I've been using a drop of thread locker on the bearing threads and it seems to help a little. July 30, 2009

A:
Go with a 9/0. 50 lb on a 4 should be 250. A good size fish will rip that right off

hello, i bought this reel a few years back and i have used it many times over and over, i try to keep a well maintained care and clean for the reel, but recently my spool tension screw broke and stripped from the reel and i was wandering if there is any way i can get just the part instead of another whole reel.
