I have had several of these and they are cheap and don't last long and I don't now why as I 'am not around salt water, rain or condensation. All th other horns are just too big.

This boat horn was delivered to me today and there were no instructions or even a diagram on the package to show how to wire it up. There are two black wires attached to the horn that are approximately 9 1/2 inches in length . One wire has a white stripe on it and the other is solid black in color. Which one is supposed to be the positive and which one is the negative or does it matter? I plan to test it by touching the wires to the battery posts to see which way it works. Also if this horn is to be a new installation in your boat, you will need to purchase a horn button because it does not come with one. If it's a replacement horn, you should be able to use your existing horn button. There are also two (02) totally different pictures of this horn that you will see displayed online. One has what appears to be a chrome decal in the center of the horn and the other has nothing on it. The one that I got has nothing on it and it looks plain Jane or bland compared to the one with the decal. The horn itself seems to be solidly built and of good quality constriction. Not nit picking here, just trying to let you know what you are getting when the package arrives. I will write a follow up review after the horn is installed.
