Our premium Nylon-Coated Wire Leaders are wrapped at the ends (not crimped), to ensure these high-quality leaders are tough enough for sharp teeth, stronger, less visible and more weed-resistant than ever. These Nylon Coated Wire Leaders feature a tough barrel swivel at one end, and an interlok snap at the other.
Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 40 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Super strong These leaders are very strong and highly recommended. December 18, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Leader fine, interlok snap bad in saltwater With extended use (1 mnth continuous) in saltwater, even with freshwater rinsing, the tabs meant to hold the snap break off, making your interlok snap useless. December 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Work Great, Lots of fish These Leaders hold up great we catch lots of fish using them with less line breakage. October 26, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice item to have I like the quality and price for the wire leaders. They work nicely in the freshwater, which is where i use them, because pickeral and pike can sometimes snap the line with their teeth; these prevent that from happening. A definite must have for the avid fisherman. I put a 4 rating bc once in a while you get a bad leader that opens up on you, but not too often. Other than that, these are a great buy September 16, 2013

A:
They do come in various pound weight as well as leader line length. The leader line is available in either black or silver, the fish would see that as well as any other line in the water.

How do I use these leaders?

Details:
I don't quite understand how to use these leaders. I'd use them for surf fishing. I imagine the barrel part hooks to my main line swivel... but how do I attach a hook? Does the hook attach straight onto the snap swivel? Wouldn't that look a bit clunky right next to my bait?

Thanks for any help.

put it on the part of a 3-way swivel that you would attach your leader. Or hook ti to your mono or fluro leader tied to your hook.

I've used these for years, and yes you can connect the hook directly onto the snap, for smaller bait fish a short line leader may be used.

A:
Your hook attaches to the snap hook, attach a snap hook to the end of your line on your pole. You attach the barrel swivel to that snap hook as well as a weight. That allows your bait to float off the bottom but still be secure by the weight. You can use it surf casting, from a boat, freshwater fishing. That set up is a carolina rig.

the ones I have(and I got them from BPS) are not single strand, but multi strand wire leaders. I have never seen single strand leaders...not saying they don't make them, I just have never seen them.
