these are steel leaders which I prefer over any others on our north fishing trip. I have used them for years and they are always reliable. I will continue to order these as needed. Thank you.

I found them to be easy to use. Only problem was two of twelve had bad snaps on the end.

I bought these to replace the cotton cords on my crab traps. They give me confidence that I will not lose my trapes because of a broken rope, and I have not experianced any problems as far as them bothering the crabs from going after the bait. I pull them up in the trap everytime.

Excellent product. Great for extension, durable, and a feature that provides a "breakaway" capacity for my much heavier line.

don't know the diameter. don't think they can see the leaderA:Â
They do come in various pound weight as well as leader line length. The leader line is available in either black or silver, the fish would see that as well as any other line in the water.Details:Â
I don't quite understand how to use these leaders. I'd use them for surf fishing. I imagine the barrel part hooks to my main line swivel... but how do I attach a hook? Does the hook attach straight onto the snap swivel? Wouldn't that look a bit clunky right next to my bait? Thanks for any help.

Your hook attaches to the snap hook, attach a snap hook to the end of your line on your pole. You attach the barrel swivel to that snap hook as well as a weight. That allows your bait to float off the bottom but still be secure by the weight. You can use it surf casting, from a boat, freshwater fishing. That set up is a carolina rig.Answers
