Northland Fishing Tackle Thumper Jigs
Designed with a lifelike minnow head and features a "thumper" blade that flickers, flashes, and flutters to fool fish. Rig with soft plastic trailers or live bait. Deadly for crappie, perch, walleye, bass, and trout!

Rated 4 out of 5 by yzguy Great little jig
This little jig ended up being our go to jig on a recent trip to Canada. We landed a lot of fish on this jig including both walleye and northern pike by tipping it with a live minnow. The only thing that I would like to see is a slightly stronger hook as the pike that we hooked were consistenly bending the hook and we lost a couple of them as a result of this. Other than that I was very impressed with this jig. It performed very well and caught lots of fish.

I have used this jig in several river systems with varying current speeds and water depth. I snip off the blade and pair it with the old style powerbait minnow smelt colour or the gulp alive smelt colour 3 inch length. I snip back the minnow head of the tail that I am using so the jig head meets flush to the tail. This ensures the bait runs true especially in heavy current. I have had huge success with this bait with huge numbers caught of up to 110 walleye in 7 hours fishing with up to 10lb fish. The reasoning for the blade snipped is in current it causing the minnow to flutter side to side and throw the boyancy off as well as maintaining the natural look of the smelt/minnow appearance. I use the berkley Nanofil line 8lb with a 3 foot seaguar flourocarbon 10lb leader. This helps with greater sensitivity for those light biters. Bottom contact is a must so be sure to match the right jig head weight with the current speed. Overall best jig head I have ever used.
