Northland Fishing Tackle Mimic Minnow® Spinnerbait
Northland Fishing Tackle's Mimic Minnow combines the lifelike movement and appearance of a soft plastic with the vibration and flash of a spinnerbait. The result: one highly productive wire bait that swims over, under, around, and through weeds, reeds, brush, and timber. The Mimic Minnow features a highly reflective holographic flash foil molded inside the body for a realistic Baitfish-Imageâ„¢ that fools 'em every time!

I primarily purchased the mimic minnow spin for fishing for Kaku (Barracuda). But other species in Hawaiian waters love them too! The shine from the Blade , especially gold seem to really attract Barracuda, and the hyperactive paddletail brings them for the hit. I fish the lure behind a mullet float with about 6 to 8 feet of 6 or 8 pound test. The safety pin wire protects the light line from the sharp teeth of the barracuda. The best retrieve is to zip the lure about 4 to 6 feet forwaqrd, then stop letting the lure drop like a dying baitfish. Sometimes the barracuda will hit the bait on the drop. You can add more realism on the drop by giving small twitches on the rod tip. Sometimes the barracuda will hir as the lure starts to take off again. But sight fishing in the clear waters of the piers, the most unforgetable strike comes as the lure is zipping on the top of the water. These are things that fishing memories are made of. Would recommend this versitile lure to all saltwater fisherman and freshwater fisherman too. It just seems to turn on the predatory instincts.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by LCrecelius Sometimes the Grandsons Right!
I never used these small minnow type spinner baits until one day my grandson and I were out fishing and I was not catching much while my grandson was really making me look bad. I checked and found that he was using a Northland Fishing Tackle Mimic Minnow® Spinnerbait. It didn't take long for me to bag him for one of his baits that he had bought the day before at a Bass Pro Shop. The Northland Fishing Tackle Mimic Minnow® Spinnerbait really worked well in the water and was easy to use. It worked best by speeding up and slow down.

Wife & I were having a slow morning on live "minners" so I tied on a 16th oz chartreuse & started bouncing cypress knees. Pretty soon the wife got sick of watching me have all the fun so she tied on a silver. We did pretty darn well & gave away a few dozen live minnows we didnt use!
